    Flags at Half-Staff on Tuesday, August 22nd

    By order of the Governor, flags over the State Capitol and all State office buildings are to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Tuesday, August 22, in honor and memory of U.S. Army Staff Sergeant William Turner of Nashville. Staff Sergeant Turner made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in World War II and will finally be laid to rest after nearly 75 years.

    ROAD WORK: Lane Closures on U.S. 41/70S

    Thursday, August 17 and Tuesday, August 22 through Wednesday August 23, from 8PM to 5AM: There will be alternating lane closures on U.S. 41 (U.S.70S, S.R.1) Westbound and Eastbound from Ken Pilkerton Drive to Florence Road for Fog Sealing and Shoulder Stone Operations. One lane will remain open in each direction throughout the duration.

  • Smyrna Library to be Closed August 21st thru September 5th

    Smyrna Library will be closed August 21st through September 5th for renovations. The book drop will still be available. Patrons can use any of the other Linebaugh Library System branches during this time. The renovations are Phase III of the Spruce Up the Library project and will include new carpet and tile in the main area of the library.

  • Good News from the Finance Department!

    The Town of Smyrna is anticipating the refunding of several existing bonds. The purpose of the refunding is for debt service savings. The estimated interest savings is approximately $1.2 million dollars. This amount is subject to change as market conditions move.
