Police to Citizen

The Smyrna Police Department is excited to unveil the Police to Citizen application for their SunGard records management software. Police-to-Citizen (P2C) allows the department to share public information with citizens in a central way and allows citizens to search police records and download reports. This application allows citizens to be more informed about the community and allows for more interaction and input into the protection of the community. Citizens can access this site through the web at P2c.townofsmyrna.org

Records
This division is responsible for the entry, maintenance and storage of all records pertaining to the daily operations of the Police Department.  All incident reports, crash reports, arrest reports and other documents are managed through this division.  The contact number for the Records Division is  (615) 355-5731.

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm

Records will be closed to observe the following State Holidays:

The Smyrna Police Records Department uses one of the most sophisticated computer system records entry systems available. The software is integrated with the telecommunications system allowing access to the most current information in the system. This allows for cross checks for active warrants, stolen property, or other pertinent information concerning the individual or situation during the record entry process.

Our Records Division is certified with TIBRS, the Tennessee Incident Base Reporting System, and with TIES, the Tennessee Information Enforcement System in cooperation with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK
(Requires two forms of ID.)
Smyrna Police Records provides a local criminal history check within the city limits of Smyrna, TN. Requests are processed during Records normal business hours. Cost $7.00 US Funds.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must appear in person, and have valid Photo Identification

Depending on the type of search requested there may be additional release forms that MUST be completed prior to the release of information.

SOLICITOR'S PERMIT CHECK
Applications for Solicitor's Permits may be obtained at Smyrna City Hall, 315 South Lowry Street, Smyrna, TN. After completing the application, it must be submitted to Smyrna Police Records during normal business hours. Criminal history checks are processed through Smyrna Police Dispatch and will be available after 72 hours in Smyrna Police Records during normal business hours.

FINGERPRINTING
The State of Tennessee has established the Tennessee Applicant Processing Services program for fingerprints for the individual who is required to submit to a fingerprint based background check. At this time, the Smyrna Police Department provides fingerprint services for the National Guard and families seeking fingerprints for adoption purposes only.

The Smyrna Police Department Division of Records does not accept payments for Citation Fines. Arrest Dispositions and Certified Copies may be obtained at the Court Clerks Office.

Communications

The Communications Division, or dispatch, serves as the primary control center for the police department, fire department, ambulance service and utilities throughout the city.  Personnel within this division are responsible for directing appropriate personnel when calls for service are requested.  The non-emergency line for dispatch is (615) 459-6644 and for all emergency calls, please dial 911.
